Varicose Veins Alaska

Alaska Vein Care is proud to offer a premier Vein Care service to our patients in Alaska.

Remember when your legs used to turn heads? Want those beautiful vein-free legs back?

There are minimally invasive procedures to treat venous diseases including varicose veins and spider veins.

Laser Treatment
Laser Treatment is a treatment alternative to surgical stripping of varicose veins in the legs. A small laser fiber is inserted, usually through a needle stick in the skin, into the damaged vein. Pulses of laser light are delivered inside the vein, which causes the vein to collapse and seal shut.

Radio Frequency
Radio Frequency is another minimally invasive procedure that treats varicose veins and their underlying cause, venous reflux. Using the Closure system, physicians close the diseased veins by inserting a catheter into a vein and heating the vein wall using temperature-controlled RF (radio frequency) energy. Heating the vein wall causes collagen in the wall to shrink and the vein to close. After the vein is sealed shut, blood then naturally reroutes to healthy veins.

These procedures can be done in office with little or no pain.  Patients will walk away from the procedure and be back to everyday activities usually within a day.  Alaska Vein Care has several experienced Interventional Radiologist who can perform these services.   Interventional Radiologists are board-certified physicians who deliver minimally invasive treatments with less risk, less pain and less recovery time than traditional surgery to treat conditions that impact a person’s quality of life.

Thanks to the minimally invasive vein treatment options available at Alaska Vein Care, you can eliminate varicose veins with comfort, convenience, and minimal recovery time.

Where are Alaska Vein Care Clinics located?

What are Varicose Veins?
Varicose Veins are bulging, twisted veins that form when the valves within our blood vessels fail to work. They commonly occur in the legs, but can be found in other parts of the body.

What are the symptoms of Varicose Veins?
In many cases, varicose veins and spider veins (a less pronounced variation of varicose veins) are strictly a cosmetic issue. They are unsightly and can cause a lot of embarrassment at the beach, the local pool, or at the gym. However, some patients will experience sharp pain, general discomfort, and even tingling sensations. In extreme cases, varicose veins can create ulcers, or blood clots.

How can you help your vein issues at home?
There are a couple of things you can do to treat your varicose veins. Exercising regularly has been helpful for many patients. Others have had good luck with compression stockings and elevation. However, if you find that self-care measures have not been successful, you may need to consult with a laser vein specialist in Anchorage Alaska.
